Quark Cheese, Oats and Fresh Fruit
Number of servings: 4
Ingredients
1 cup oats
1 cup semi-skimmed milk
Zest of 1/2 lemon
3 tablespoons honey
170g quark cheese
2/3 of a Fuji apple
2/3 of a Rocha pear
Fresh basil to taste
1 cinnamon stick
Preparation
- Previously, cook the oats in milk, add a finely grated lemon zest and a cinnamon stick, and cook until they reach a creamy consistency similar to rice pudding.
- Refrigerate until fresh when ready to serve.
- A few hours later, slice the unpeeled apples and pears and brown them in a nonstick skillet, adding a little butter if needed. Add the honey and chopped basil at the end. Refrigerate until cool.
- Season the oats with a little honey, mixing well. Add the apple and pear to the cheese and toss with fresh basil. Place a portion of oats on top, then a little cheese, along with the fruit and basil. Add a drizzle of honey and garnish with a sprig of basil.
- Suggestions: You can make this dish without basil if you don't like it. In that case, you can substitute fresh mint, lemon thyme, or another aromatic herb of your choice. Aromatic herbs should be used fresh, giving freshness to the dish.
