“It is the most challenging professional project I have ever had.”

Anabela Santos, Senior Compliance Manager at DaVita Portugal, celebrates 13 years with the organization, a journey marked by constant challenges, integrity, and a strong contribution to excellence in patient care.

Para Anabela, a motivação no trabalho nasce da capacidade de enfrentar novos desafios de forma criativa. “O desafio de pensar ‘fora da caixa’ e de encontrar soluções para novos desafios” é o que mais a impulsiona diariamente.

One of the aspects of her work she is most proud of is linked to the international scope of her role. She highlights DaVita’s ability to develop a compliance program at an international level, where cultural diversity and the specificities of different markets are naturally incorporated into the program’s requirements.

When thinking about the most memorable moments at DaVita, Anabela particularly values the everyday life and the relationships built over time. “More important than an isolated moment, I believe what matters most is the day-to-day. I feel that the informal relationships and occasional fun we have at work help break down barriers and foster a positive work environment,” she shares.

Over the years, she feels she has grown both professionally and personally. “I feel more resilient and place particular importance on the contribution of the company’s various functional areas to successfully achieve the goals I set,” she affirms.

The impact of her work is also reflected in patients’ lives through the promotion of high ethical standards. “I believe integrity is fundamental in everything we do, and patient care only benefits from a team of professionals guided by high ethical standards,” she emphasizes.

For Anabela, DaVita stands out for its clear focus on mission and people. “The professionalism with which we provide treatment to our patients, our ability to center our activities on the patient” make the organization a special place to work.

To colleagues who are just starting their roles, she leaves advice rooted in humility and continuous learning: “The importance of humility to recognize that we can always improve, do things differently, and not see criticism solely as something negative, but also as something that, however difficult it may be, can make us better people and better professionals.”

Outside of work, she finds energy through travel. “I love travelling, discovering new places, and gaining new memories and experiences,” she shares.
Summing up her experience at DaVita Portugal in one sentence, Anabela is clear: “It is the most challenging professional project I have ever had.”
